SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER (SAD)
Seasonal Affective Disorder is a type of depression that is related to changes in seasons. It can be caused by a combination of factors including reduced sunlight exposure in the winter which can disrupt the body's internal clock and impact mood-regulating brain chemicals like serotonin and melatonin. Symptoms can include feelings of sadness, lack of energy, loss of interest in usual activities, and oversleeping. Feel free to speak to your practitioner about how you are feeling.
